NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma fans are already gearing up for what could be one of the biggest showdowns this college football season.

On Saturday, the No. 14 Oklahoma Sooners will take on the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes in the Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

While tailgates and pep rallies for the Sooners will flood campus, one part of OU will be painted a different shade of red.

According to the Ohio State University Alumni Association, Ohio State will hold a ‘Buckeye Bash’ inside the Lloyd Noble Center.

Buckeye fans will be treated to ‘true Oklahoma barbecue’ and music from the Ohio State Marching Band.

The pep rally will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., ahead of the 6:30 p.m. kickoff.

Kenny Mossman, senior associate A.D./external operations for OU, said the event is simply a donor/alumni function at the Lloyd Noble Center with about 800 attendees.

Mossman says it is a ‘typical event’ and the University of Oklahoma has held similar events in the past while the teams are on the road.
