OHP officer struck from behind in his cruiser on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – An Oklahoma State trooper has been treated and released from a local hospital after being injured when his patrol car was rear ended on the H. E. Bailey Turnpike around 3:30 p.m. today.

Trooper Brian Dixon suffered minor injuries in the collision which occurred near mile marker 87 on the southbound side.

Dixon was in his patrol car when it was struck from behind while he sat parked partially in the outside lane with the emergency lights activated.

Dixon was blocking traffic as a construction crew worked on the roadway.

No other injuries were reported.

The collision remains under investigation.
