Oklahoma Blood Institute issues blood emergency; Supplies very low, donations needed after winter storms

OKLAHOMA – A blood emergency continues across the state.  As of Feb. 6, some 15 scheduled blood drives have been canceled due to do winter weather, amounting to 540 less donors than expected.

Those who are able to travel safely are urged to visit an OBI donor center or blood drive to give this week.

Blood drive schedules will be listed below. 

Saturday, Feb. 8

Perkins Volunteer Fire Dept., bloodmobile on Main St., noon to 5 p.m.

Newkirk Family Health Clinic, 8 a.m. to noon

Sunday, Feb. 9

Duncan, Chisholm Trail Church of Christ, 11a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Stillwater, First United Methodist Church, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Edmond, New Hope Church of Christ, 8 a.m. to noon

MWC, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 8:30 a.m. to noon

Monday, Feb. 10

Lone Wolf Community, bloodmobile at 100 Main, 3 to 6:30 p.m.

Helena Community, Timberlake High School, 2 to 6 p.m.

Alva, Northwest Technology Center, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
