OKLAHOMA CITY – Animal welfare authorities are looking for families who want to open their homes to a pet in need.

Officials with the City of Oklahoma City say the animal shelter is being overrun with cats.

In fact, they say the shelter has taken in 229 cats and kittens in the last seven days.

Now, they are desperately trying to find a home for the felines.

For the month of June, the shelter is waiving the adoption fee for adult cats and reducing the adoption fee to $30 for kittens.
