OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma City man is facing animal cruelty charges after allegedly stabbing a puppy to death.

On Oct. 23, officers were called to a home in the 1600 block of E. Park Pl. when a man called dispatchers to report that a puppy had been killed.

According to the probable cause affidavit, 19-year-old Dallas Hicks told investigators that he became angry about “past stuff” and “went blank.”

The next thing he knew, he was in the bathroom and the puppy was dead in the bathtub.

Hicks’ mother told police that when she arrived home, Hicks told her that he “messed up” and “hurt the puppy.”

Officers eventually recovered a serrated, survival style knife that was allegedly used to disembowel the 6-week-old pit bull puppy.

Dallas Hicks was charged with one count of animal cruelty.
