UPDATE: Oklahoma City Public Schools Superintendent Dave Lopez is apologizing to parents and students for the late notice about school closings Monday morning.

Lopez said they made the decision for the safety children in the “bone-chilling” cold.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City Public Schools are closed Monday for dangerously low temperatures.

Officials said classes have been canceled but district offices are open.
