OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma City Thunder player is hoping to raise money and help Oklahoma County children learn about basketball in the process.

On Saturday, Victor Oladipo is teaming up with U.S. Cellular to host a basketball shooting clinic to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Oklahoma County.

The first 20 children to show up for the event will have the opportunity to join 20 kids from the program to participate in the clinic from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

“I’m really looking forward to getting into the Oklahoma City community to do what I can to help support kids throughout the city,” said Victor Oladipo, Oklahoma City Thunder guard. “This event will be a fun way for everyone to come together and raise money for the Boys & Girls Club.”

U.S. Cellular will donate $1,500 to the Boys &Girls Club, and guests can take their shot at a basket from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The company will donate $1 for every free throw made during that time frame, up to $1,000.

“Community support from organizations such as U.S. Cellular and the Oklahoma City Thunder sends an important message to our youth,” said Jane Sutter, president and CEO, Boys & Girls Club of Oklahoma County. “An investment in the children and teens we serve is an investment in our community’s future.”

The event will be held at the U.S. Cellular store at 1609 Penn Park Blvd.
