Oklahoma City woman believed to have passed out on PCP arrested for child neglect

OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma City woman was arrested for child neglect after she was found passed out at a local motel.

On December 16th, a maintenance man for the Days Inn in the 2800 block of N.W. 39th St. called police after finding a woman passed out in the hallway.

The man told police that the woman way lying down in the doorway of her room with her head and torso inside the room, but had her legs outside the room.

She was reportedly not responding to the man and he could hear a small child crying inside of the room.

When authorities arrived, they found the woman, identified as 38-year-old Rachel Gamble, inside the motel room.

The woman reportedly looked at the officer with a blank stare and would not speak, but acted as if she was trying to speak.

According to the police report, Gamble tried to pick up her 19-month-old child, but she was unable to walk very well.

The officer noted in his report that he believed the woman was not in a state of mind capable to care for the child.

The officer advised that the woman sit down and be evaluated by EMSA.

Once inside the room, the officer noticed an empty brown vial that is commonly associated with PCP use.

The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she was tested.

According to the police report, the woman tested positive for PCP and marijuana in her system.

After she was released from the hospital, she was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail for child neglect.
