WAGONER COUNTY, Okla. (KOKI) – A traffic stop along an Oklahoma highway led to the discovery of a kilo of cocaine.
“That’s a little over two pounds,” said Sheriff Bob Colbert, with the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office. “That’s a lot of cocaine.”
The cocaine was found wrapped in plastic and hidden inside a Gucci bag that was then tucked inside a spare tire.
While it may seem like it was hidden, a K-9 officer had no trouble finding it.
Deputies say Highway 69 is a hot spot for drug traffickers.
“It’s a major pipeline to Mexico. You can pretty much branch out to any interstate from 69 or 75,” said Lt. Jason Hathcoat, with the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office.
Kiana Jacobs and Vannessa Williams were arrested on trafficking and possession charges.
Officials say while the punishment is steep, some believe the money is worth the risk.
“You are talking about $25,000 a pound,” Colbert said.
