While the football game is Thursday night's main event, some high school students will also bring the "boom".

The Santa Fe South drum team was hand picked to perform at half time of the Sugar Bowl.

It's an honor for the small team of 26 drummers.  Senior, Vivianne Garcia said, "It's such an honor.  We are the only steel drum band ever selected to play at a BCS game.  We will represent our state & school very well."

The band members raised $38,000 to make the trip.
