OKLAHOMA CITY—Since 1920, the Disabled American Veterans has been assisting vets navigate through the government bureaucracy to get their benefits.
This weekend, members of the Oklahoma DAV have been meeting for their annual convention at the Biltmore Hotel near downtown Oklahoma City.
During the convention, members will be trained so they are equipped to assist veterans across the state.
Organizers say the Disabled American Veterans is imperative to protect those who have served our country.
Danny Oliver said, “What we do for the veteran is simply get them the benefits for what they earned. This is not something they go out to get, that is a freebie.”
