OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma City man is facing sexual assault charges after he allegedly attacked a woman and then threatened her and his girlfriend with a butcher’s knife.

Police say a 26-year-old woman saw another woman stranded on the side of the road and offered her a ride home.

According to officers, the woman dropped her off at her house near 15th and N. Portland.

The stranded woman went inside the house to get gas money, and told the woman driver to come inside because it wasn’t safe to wait outside.

Police say when both women were inside the house, the stranded woman’s boyfriend, Hershell Phillips, Jr., got upset.

Officer say he grabbed the woman driver and sexually assaulted her.

The girlfriend fought off Phillips.

Police say he then grabbed a butcher’s knife, slashed the woman driver’s tires, and threatened them with the knife.

The man took off, but police tracked him down and arrested him on sexual assault charges.
