GRANT COUNTY, Okla. – An Oklahoma man is facing charges after investigators say he allegedly tried to rape a woman at a senior living center.

On Nov. 19, officers with the Medford Police Department were called to the Servant Living Center after a staff member called 911 to report a crime.

According to the probable cause affidavit, a nurse at the living center told police that 58-year-old Raymond Jose Rivera was found in the room of another patient and was “attempting to have intercourse” with the woman.

When he was confronted, the nurse said that Rivera apologized and said he “would not do it again.”

The victim told officers that Rivera came into her room and woke her up by removing her clothing. According to the affidavit,  she repeatedly told him ‘no,’ but he continued to remove her clothes and tried to have sex with her.

Rivera is facing one felony count of sexual battery. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison.
