BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Authorities arrested a Broken Arrow man after he allegedly stole hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of food stamps.

The Oklahoma Department of Human Services Office of Inspector General opened an investigation into Milton Islam, who they say stole more than $282,000 from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or food stamps.

Food stamp trafficking involves buying, selling and trading SNAP benefits for cash or ineligible non-food items.
