ENID, Okla. – An Enid mother accused of scamming local businesses out of more than $16,000 is now accused of ripping off a state agency.
Police say for the last four years, 32-year-old Jessica Good has been holding fundraisers and setting up GoFundMe accounts, claiming her child was sick.
Authorities say that it was all a lie, but she got thousands of dollars from people who were simply trying to help.
Now, the Department of Human Services says she scammed them too, getting more than $45,000 in state assistance since 2011.
However, they say it is money that she never should have received.
According to the state, Good failed to report her husband’s income when applying for help. If she had, she wouldn’t have qualified.
