OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma City woman is facing animal cruelty charges for killing her dog and leaving a trail of blood and knives in her home.

Police say they responded to a call that a woman was outside her home on NW 9th St. covered in blood and being hysterical holding her dog.

When officers got there they found 22-year-old Sammie Bruhwiler holding her dog with  hands and clothes covered in blood, and her face had smeared blood all over it.

Officers went inside the home and found blood throughout the home and two knives, a pocket knife and a silver blade, covered in blood.

Investigators say Bruhwiler told them the dog was in the backyard and started coming toward her, but they say her story did not add up because there was no blood in the backyard.

Animal welfare workers were called to the home and said it appeared the dog was suffocated or strangled.

Sources tell us it was a small black and white dog but we don’t have confirmation on what breed it was.

Officers say she admitted her dog had pus and fleas and her mom told her to cut the dogs hair shorter and shave it off.
