One dead after tragic head-on collision in Moore

MOORE, Okla. – One person is dead after a man who was driving in the wrong direction on I-35 crashed into multiple vehicles.

Around 11:47 p.m., officials say, 21-year-old Conner Otis of Norman was driving south in the northbound lane of I-35 when he crashed head-on into 42-year-old Starla Garcia’s vehicle.

Officials say after crashing into Garcia’s vehicle, Otis struck a concrete barrier and another vehicle.

Garcia was pinned for approximately 2 hours before she was freed by a medical examiner. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Garcia’s passenger is said to be in good condition at a local hospital.

Otis was reportedly pinned for around 20 minutes before the Moore Fire Department freed him using the Hurst Tool.

He was taken to OU Medical in critical condition.

Authorities continue to investigate Otis’ condition at the time of the crash.
