One person dead after early morning shootout in NW Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY- One person is dead and another is injured after a gun battle broke out on the city’s northwest side.

It happened outside a hookah bar around 2:30 a.m. Sunday near 23rd Street and Villa Avenue.

Officers say multiple people were firing weapons at each other.

“I heard about 30 shots. I mean, simultaneously and people were scattering. The place was packed,” said Frederick Montgomery.

One person was taken to the hospital with at least one gunshot wound. Their condition is unknown at this time.

Authorities are still investigating what led up to the incident.
