OKLAHOMA CITY – One person is in the hospital for a gunshot wound following a domestic situation that turned into an officer-involved shooting overnight.

Police were called to a home in the 2700 block of SW 49th St. by a person who said an intoxicated 26-year-old man was tearing up the house shortly after 12:30 a.m., according to police.

When they arrived on scene, they heard a gunshot from inside the home.

The suspect, later identified as Jesse Archer, then came out of the house and made a threatening gesture towards police, according to the Oklahoma City Police Department.

An officer fired one round at the suspect, hitting the man in the leg.

The suspect went back inside the home for a short amount of time before he came out and gave himself up to police.

He was transported in stable condition to an area hospital for a gunshot wound.

The officer is on routine administrative leave while police investigate the incident.
