ATOKA COUNTY, Okla. – Authorities are investigating after an Oklahoma man killed two people, then himself Wednesday night.

According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, 64-year-old Sherman Banks shot and killed 53-year-old Kathryn Banks and 49-year-old Kent Houchen at the Sanford Oil Company.

Kathryn Banks and Kent Houchen reportedly both worked for Sanford Oil Company.

Law enforcement officials say they found Sherman Banks a short distance from his home in Stringtown, Oklahoma.

Officials say he died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Kathryn and Sherman Banks recently filed protective orders on each other and were in the process of getting a divorce.

According to KXII, authorities were alerted to Sherman Banks’ suicide after he talked to his grandchild about the crime.
