OSU’s Mike Gundy named AFCA Coach of the Year

STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State head football coach Mike Gundy was named 2015 Region 4 Coach of the Year.

The award was given by the American Football Coaches Association Monday, Dec. 7.

This is Gundy’s second time to win the award. The first time was in 2011.

The AFCA recognizes five regional Coach of the Year winners in each of the Association’s five divisions: Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III and NAIA.

The winners are selected by active members of the association who vote for coaches in their respective regions and divisions.

Gundy and the other winners of the award will be recognized at the AFCA Coach of the Year Dinner at the 2016 AFCA Convention in San Antonio, Texas. The dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, January 12.

The OSU football team is 10-2 so far in the 2015 season.

They will take on Ole Miss in the the 2015 Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day.
