LAWTON, Okla. – For several years unattended and undocumented children from Central America have been crossing the U.S. border.
Many of those kids are now being housed here in Oklahoma.
Those children have been in the Sooner State since June. Yet, their living conditions remain shrouded in secrecy.
With so few pictures or even access inside, many are concerned that authorities may be hiding something.
Today, an organization from Kansas crossed the border into the state in the search of answers.
Sunflower Community Action is looking to answer why these children are being held without access to the outside world.
They say a child is a child, regardless of race.
They are demanding that America lives up to its promise of being a nation created by immigration.
