OKLAHOMA CITY - Within the stone walls and stained glass, beams a ray of hope, mercy and love. For more than a decade, Cross & Crown Mission in Oklahoma City, has been serving needs of the city's poor.
They provide food, clothing, medical and legal services. It's a ministry that helps thousands of people every year, including Celia Hidago.
Celia came for assistance after her daughter died and she began caring for her 3 grandchildren. She's been a powerful presence here ever since. Hidago said, "Even in my darkest days He's there, and I praise Him."
Celia's unparalleled devotion is the reason Paul Whitmire nominated her for Pay It 4Ward. Whitmire told us, "Celia is a selfless volunteer."
And that's why Celia Hidago was selected as this week's Pay It 4Ward recipient.
We surprised her this week with $500 from our friends at Spirit Mortgage. Celia called it an "answered prayer", because her husband had just been laid off work.
Faith Clune said, "This is just the way God always works. Every time He provides in mysterious ways."
An unexpected blessing for a grateful servant.
