PITTSBURG — A Pennsylvania man was convicted of raping his wife’s teenage daughter in attempts to conceive a child with her.

Gary and Misty Machinshok allegedly met in 2013 on a website called

Misty already had two children, but was allegedly unable to give birth to another child. So she and Gary wanted to use her teenage daughter to have a baby for the couple to raise it as their own, prosecutors say.

Prosecutors say Misty assisted with the rape by pushing her teenage daughter onto her husband and suggesting the best positions for her to get pregnant.

Gary Machinshok, 29, pleaded no contest last year to first-degree rape and other charges related to the abuse of the 15-year-old girl and her 11-year-old sister.

Misty Machinshok, 33, pleaded guilty in January to charges including rape, assault, endangering welfare of a child, and conspiracy.

Machinshok, who was sentenced to 13-1/2 to 27 years in prison, testified against his wife, who was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Both victims are reportedly now in foster care.
