Police: 1 dead, 1 injured after S.W. Oklahoma City shooting

Deadly shooting in the 2500 block of S.W. 55th St.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Police are investigating a shooting in southwest Oklahoma City that left one person dead and another injured.

Just after 12 a.m. on June 8th, police say a group of people were standing in front of a home in the 2500 block of S.W. 55th when they were approached by a man.

That man then walked up to 29-year-old Calvin Wells and shot him, police say.

A 23-year-old female was also hit by the gunfire.

The suspect then fled the scene.

The two victims were transported to a local hospital.

Police say Wells was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The other victim is expected to survive.

At this time, police say it is unclear what provoked the shooting.

No arrests have been made.
