HOUSTON, Texas – A 40-year-old man is recovering after he was allegedly shot in the back by his son, according to Houston police officials.
Investigators told KPRC that 40-year-old Antonio Alvarenga had been driving his 10-year-old son and daughter to school when he was shot in the back.
Authorities allege that Alvarenga’s son, who was sitting in the backseat, allegedly pulled a gun from his backpack and shot his father through the seat.
Friends told KPRC that Alvarenga didn’t even know his son was the one who pulled the trigger, but learned that in the hospital.
No charges have been filed in the case.
