INDIANA – Killed for laughing.

That’s what police in Indiana say happened to a 13-year-old boy.

This morning a neighborhood is still trying to figure out how a break-in led to 13-year-old Koby Jones being shot nine times, killing him.

“It’s sad that the young boy lost his life,” a neighbor said.

“It’s ridiculous. There could have been other things done,” Danny Cooper, a neighbor said.

Danny Cooper lives across the street from Jones. He says not too long before the teen was killed, he talked to the man police say pulled the trigger.

“He came and knocked on my door to let people know that his house was broken into and he was pretty angry,” Cooper said.

Cooper went back inside but says his neighbor was getting a lot of attention on the block for yelling and making a scene.

While the man doing this, the victim allegedly laughed at him – causing the man to shoot Koby Jones nine times, according to police.

“They shot my 13-year-old son,” Kaunda Jones, the victim’s father said.

Kaunda Jones drove in from Indianapolis as soon as he heard about the death of his son.

Jones had a large blended family and they are all leaning on each other after this tragic incident.
