WRENTHAM, Mass. – Sadly, it’s something you hear about all too often in the summer.

However, authorities say they were called to a Massachusetts outlet mall after a baby was found alone inside a frigid car.

A woman called 911 after she reportedly saw a baby crying in a car seat alone inside a car that was not running.

When officers arrived, they found the child’s mother speaking with the 911 caller.

The mother told investigators that she was inside a store for about 10 minutes while she left the baby inside the car.

Police told NECN that temperatures were in the mid-20s that time of the day.

However, the child had on a snow suit and appeared to be sweating ‘profusely.’

The mother was not arrested but was given a summons for child endangerment.

The baby was taken to a nearby hospital to be evaluated.
