SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah – Police say a 9-year-old boy in Utah was able to escape an alleged kidnapper.

Police told KSL that the boy was walking near his home when he was forced into a man’s truck by a stranger. Authorities say the man pulled the truck behind a store, and that’s when the boy jumped out and began running.

The boy then called his stepfather using a GizmoGadget he was wearing. The GizmoGadget is a watch that uses GPS to allow parents to know where their children are and it also allows children to call set numbers with the press of a button.

Authorities are still searching for the alleged kidnapper.
