OKLAHOMA CITY — Some Northwest Oklahoma City residents got a rude awakening early Thursday morning. This was the scene at 35th and Hammond Rd. just before 3 a.m. Police say a few moments earlier, the motorist refused to pull over during a traffic stop, leading officers on a 70-mile-per-hour chase through a 40-mph zone.

At one point, the driver acted as if he was pulling over but then allegedly threw the car in reverse and rammed a police cruiser before taking off again.

Eventually, the suspect crashed into a parked car in front of this home, sending the car and his own into the house.

No one was injured.

Police arrested the motorist, 25-year-old Mitchel Keith Watan, at the scene.

Police say he was driving under the influence.
