Police: Child alert after being struck by car in S.W. Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY – Police say a child was hit by a car in southwest Oklahoma City.

Authorities say a 6-year-old child was struck by a vehicle near S.W. 44th and Blackwelder around 7:30 a.m. while walking to school.

The child did not sustain any serious injuries.

However, he was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated.

Traffic in the area was blocked off until crews could clear the scene.
