WEST LINN, Ore. – A drunk mother was arrested after allegedly leaving her baby in an SUV and falsely reporting the vehicle as stolen.

According to police, 31-year-old Terra Brandenburg was drunk when she got behind the wheel of her BMW SUV with her 4-week-old baby in the backseat.

KGW says Brandenburg crashed her BMW on the Arch Bridge before driving to a parking lot at the end of the bridge.

At that point, officers say Brandenburg left her vehicle with the child inside to head to a nearby gas station to buy wine.

A short time after buying the wine, she reported that her BMW was stolen with the child inside.

Just minutes later, police found the car.

In addition to the baby, authorities say a very “angry” Doberman Pinscher was also found inside the SUV.

Brandenburg was arrested for DUI, initiating a false report, disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment, criminal mistreatment, reckless driving and child neglect.

At the time of her arrest, authorities say her blood alcohol content was 0.25, three times the legal limit.
