OKLAHOMA CITY – Police are searching for clues after an elderly woman was assaulted and robbed in the parking lot of a local grocery store.

On Dec. 9, officers were called to the Walmart Neighborhood Market, located in the 900 block of S.W. 104th St., after hearing about an injury accident.

When they arrived at the scene, they learned that a woman had actually been injured during a robbery.

According to the police report, the 74-year-old victim says she had just left the bank and stopped at Walmart to buy some groceries. When she parked her car, the victim says a man yanked open the passenger’s side door and grabbed her purse, which was on her shoulder.

“When he grabbed the purse, he started pulling [the victim] over the center console of her car and out the passenger door,” the report states.

Witnesses told officers that a light-colored Lincoln MKX was parked next to the victim’s car, and was waiting for the suspect.

As the suspect was pulling the victim toward the car, he allegedly told her, “We are fixing to run over you.” At that point, she let go of the purse.

Police believe the suspects followed the victim from the bank.
