OKLAHOMA CITY – One man is dead after an attempted home invasion in northeast Oklahoma City.

Around 12:30 a.m., police say three suspects attempted to burglarize a home near N.E. 30th and Prospect.

Once the suspects entered the home, they were confronted by the homeowner, who chased them outside.

Officers say once the suspects were outside of the home, one of the suspects allegedly pulled out a BB gun and pointed it toward the resident.

The resident, who was also armed, then fired off a single shot, striking one of the suspects in the abdomen.

The two remaining suspects took off running before police got to the scene.

The wounded suspect was transported to the hospital where he later died.

Authorities are still searching for the two remaining suspects.

The homeowner was interviewed and released by detectives.
