NORMAN, Okla. – Authorities in Norman have identified a man who was hit and killed by a train early Thursday morning.

Police were called to the railroad crossing near Constitution St. around 12:12 a.m. on Thursday.

Investigators say a pedestrian was standing near the track videotaping or photographing the train.

The train was unable to stop and hit the man as it passed through the crossing.

The pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was identified as 31-year-old Michael Andrew Railly.

Norman police would like to remind pedestrians and motorists that serious injuries and fatalities occur when individuals disobey signs and signals at railroad crossings.
