OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) -- Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly shot through an apartment glass door, hitting a juvenile in the arm.

"Obviously a very dangerous situation," MSgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department said.

It happened just after midnight on Thursday at an apartment complex near Ann Arbor and NW Expressway.

"The two kids were just inside the apartment, laying on the couch, when gunfire erupted," Knight said.

According to the police report, one of the two kids, ages 12 and 15, was shot in the upper arm when bullets flew through their back glass door.

When police arrived, they found numerous shell casings laying on the ground just behind the apartment, bullet holes in the wall across the living room from the door and shattered glass was covering the back porch.

"When you have two kids alone in a residence and then bullets come flying in, that's dangerous for anybody, but probably a very frightening situation for kiddos," Knight said.

Unfortunately, police do not have a good description of the shooter.

"Certainly in a case like this, we're hoping that there are witnesses out there who may have seen something," Knight said. "We're very fortunate that it didn't turn into something far more tragic."

If you have information that could help police, call Crime Stoppers at (405)-235-7300.
