OKLAHOMA CITY - Police are investigating a homicide in northwest Oklahoma City.

The homicide was reported on Monday evening at the Summer Place Apartments in the 5900 block of N.W. 35th St.

Police said a woman shot a man to death and fled the scene.

The woman then reportedly pulled into the Bethany Fire Department in the 3900 block of N. Rockwell Ave.

Police said that's where she also died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“I was actually just about to go to the store and noticed that all the police were blocking the street, looked down here and there was people with tactical gear, had the guns out, bullet proof vests,” said Isaiah Thatcher, who lives down the street from the fire department. “I had to walk over to the officer over here to see if we were safe. I got some kids in here. I didn’t know if there was somebody on the loose.”

The man and woman reportedly knew each other, however their relation is unknown at this time.

When asked if the shooting was domestic, Warr Acres Lt. Tom Green said they're "unsure about that at his point."

"We do have OSBI here on scene helping us with the crime scene," Green said. "As far as what transpired prior to it, we're not completely clear yet."

Police said the man lived at the apartment complex, where he was killed.
