OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City police have issued an arrest warrant for the boyfriend of a woman who was found dead Thursday night.

An arrest warrant was issued for 22-year-old Devin Alan Timmons, the reported boyfriend of 27-year-old Laura Brooks.

Police were called to a daycare on Thursday evening after Brooks never showed up to pick up her four children.

After reviewing surveillance video, day care staff discovered Brooks was not the person who dropped off the children.

Staff members say Brooks’ boyfriend, 22-year-old Devin Timmons, is the one who dropped the children off that day.

When officers were unable to contact Brooks, they went to her apartment near S.W. 55th and Agnew.

Once inside, they found Brooks’ body.

Officials say she had injuries to her face and head, along with two black eyes.

Brooks’ mother told police that Timmons and her daughter had been fighting the previous night. She said that one of the kids said they saw Timmons hurt their mother and that she “was in heaven now.”

According to Brooks’ mother, Timmons has assaulted Brooks in the past.

About a year ago, he allegedly threw Brooks into a window, causing her to be hospitalized for a head injury.

Brooks’ mother also told police her daughter’s 2006 Honda Odyssey van was missing.

Friday afternoon, police issued an arrest warrant for first degree murder for Timmons.

Police are still looking for Timmons at this time.
