Bomb scare: Police investigating ‘suspicious device’ near OKC business, workers evacuated

UPDATE 12:00 p.m. 6/26/2014

Officials have informed NewsChannel 4 that an employee was terminated.

While going through the person’s locker, they found what appeared to be a hand grenade.

Employees called the police and then evacuated the building.

When police arrived, they discovered another “device” that appeared to be another hand grenade.

Police and bomb technicians remain on scene and are taking precaution.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Police and emergency crews rushed to a local business Thursday morning after a worker found a suspicious package outside the building.

Authorities were called to Goodwill Career Center, located near S. Reno Ave. and Blackwelder around 11 a.m. on Thursday.

Officers say they received a call from an employee, who claimed to find something they believe might be an explosive device.

Employees were evacuated from the building as police approached the scene.

Bomb technicians were seen going into the building in light gear.
