OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma City man is facing several charges after he allegedly assaulted a police officer during a traffic stop.

On March 14, officers pulled over a car on N.W. Expressway after the driver allegedly ran a stop sign and hit a curb.

According to an arrest affidavit, when an officer asked 32-year-old Phillip Coon to step out of his vehicle, he allegedly  head butted the officer in the face.

The report says Coon “kept stating he was guilty of DUI, but not for head butting an officer. [Coon] also started crying in the backseat of my patrol car in route to county.”

He was arrested for assault and battery on a police officer, driving under the influence, driving under revocation, transporting an open container of alcohol and assault and battery.
