BURKBURNETT, Texas – A Texas woman is accused in a horrific case of child abuse.

Twenty-four-year-old Sara Woody is facing nearly 30 abuse charges.

According to the Times Record News, Woody is accused of making her stepsons, ages 12 and seven, lick dirty toilet rims, striking their genitals with a belt, burning their tongues with a lighter, and making them drink a concoction that caused them to vomit.

She also allegedly beat the boys on multiple occasions.

Burkburnett Police Detective Donald Osborn says the case began in March when one of the boys was brought to a hospital with an injury.

Woody was held Friday at the Wichita County jail on a $3 million bond.

Her husband, 34-year-old Jonathan Woody, is facing four charges because he allegedly knew about the abuse and did nothing to stop it.

The boys have since been placed with relatives.
