NEW YORK (CNN) – They are the people children are told to trust but officials say they were among 70 people arrested in a major child porn bust.

A U.S. law enforcement official says a police officer was arrested after allegedly using Skype to have women pose their children naked for him.

Authorities say another person arrested was a supervisor with the Transportation Security Administration, who allegedly traveled to the Dominican Republic to have sex with children.

Others arrested included a paramedic with the New York Fire Department, a rabbi and a scoutmaster and little league coach.

The investigation began as part of an undercover operation into peer-to-peer networks.

The suspects allegedly searched files using graphic terms and descriptions.

According to CNN, thousands of pornographic images of children were shared at no charge.
