OKLAHOMA CITY - Police and emergency crews rushed to northwest Oklahoma City around 12:30 Friday near N.W. 15th St. and Miller Ave. after witnesses called saying shots rang out.

Oklahoma City police officials confirm that one woman was shot during a robbery, she died from her injuries.

Neighbors describe the area as family-friendly, but say over the past few months, the home where the shooting happened, has raised red flags.

"That house has more traffic than I-35," said neighbor Melissa Hawley.

Hawley says it is unusual to have police surrounding her street.

"I said what's going on in my great neighborhood? Because we don`t usually have crime scenes here," Hawley says.

Police say there had been a shooting around 12:30 Friday afternoon.

"The only thing the police officer would tell me is it was a drug deal gone bad," Hawley says.

Police did not mention any drug deal, but did say there was a robbery.

"You don`t like having stuff like that happen in your neighborhood," Hawley says.

Neighbors told NewsChannel 4 the people who live in the home are younger males.

"They're always out in the front, I've overheard conversations about weapons," Robert Reynolds, a neighbor said.

"Several people have called 911 for drug and prostitution," Bruce Hall, homeowner association president says.

It's unclear if the woman killed lived in the home, but neighbors say this should be a wake up call for the people they say are bringing crime to their front steps.

"Go away, we`re not going to have this in Miller neighborhood, this is a great place to live, people raise their families here and we`re not going to put up with this," Hall said.

The alleged suspect is still on the loose and may still have the victim's purse.

The suspect was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans and has a buzz haircut.

Authorities say that suspect may still be armed.
