Police respond to barricaded suspect in southeast Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY – OKCPD Tactical Team has responded to a barricaded suspect near S.E. 89th St. and Luther Rd.

The standoff began Thursday shortly after 7 p.m.

Police were looking for a wanted man.

Police did not believe it was a hostage situation but continued to monitor.

A bomb squad was on the scene.

SWAT and officers were seen gearing up with helmets and bulletproof vests.

They had a large perimeter set up in the rural area.

The suspect was taken into custody around 11 p.m.

Police later identified the suspect as Enrique De la Cruz Jr., 24.

Cruz was wanted on Oklahoma County felony warrants for robbery in the first degree, aggravated assault and battery and burglary in the first degree.
