OKLAHOMA CITY  - An Oklahoma City man is arrested for allegedly killing a small puppy. Police said the suspect slammed his puppy against a concrete wall and kicked it until it died.

The suspect, Tyrone Webb, is now accused of animal cruelty. Witnesses said they watched him beat the young dog, barely a year old, to death.

"He was taking this puppy and slamming it against the wall and threw it on the ground and started kicking it," Nicole Herrin said, who witnessed the attack.

After watching the puppy's head crushed against the concrete wall, Nicole ran out to help but it was too late.

"When I picked up the puppy it was gasping for air, so apparently it suffered," Herrin said. "That's just wrong."

"He seemed to have some issues.  He didn't understand what was happening," Oklahoma City police MSgt. Gary Knight said.

According to court records, Webb suffers from bipolar schizophrenia.

Police say they found Webb wearing a toy "MMA" style belt. He said he had won it by "defeating dogzilla".

Later, he was also seen saying "shut up" to an invisible object he was holding.

"He was not making any sense.  He didn't show remorse.  He made statements that didn't make sense," Knight said.  "He did not seem to be in touch with reality."

No one answered at Webb's home. He lives just across the street from where the attack happened.

Neighbors hope Webb gets treatment for his mental issues and is held accountable for the senseless killing.

"It was just a sad deal for the puppy.  He was a poor defenseless animal and didn't do nothing to that guy,"  Victoria Martinez Rubio said.

Neighbors say they've complained about the suspect yelling at people and making a disturbance in the past, but a search of court records did not turn up any previous felony charges against Webb.
