OKLAHOMA CITY – Police are asking for the public’s help looking for someone they said is impersonating a sheriff’s deputy in order to rob people.

It happened Monday morning at a car wash near N.W. 15th St. and May Ave.

According to police, the suspect drove up to a car wash employee, claiming to be a sheriff’s deputy and demanded the employee hand over his wallet.

The suspect took $40 from the wallet, threw it back at the attendant and drove off.

Witnesses said the suspect appeared to be in his mid-forties.

He was driving a 2011 white Ford Focus with a paper tag.

Police would like to speak with anyone who may have information on this incident.
