OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office are racing to find 24-year-old Clayton Scott Stiles, a man accused of sexually abusing a young child.

“Every time we go somewhere where he could be, he`s not there,” Mark Meyers said. “People that have had contact with him in the past no longer have contact with him. So he does know that we`re actively searching for him. It`s obvious that he`s running from us.”

Sheriff’s officials say Stiles forced his 12-year-old victim to perform sexual acts. He also allegedly sent lewd photographs and texts to the young girl. The alleged incidents took place earlier this year, some of the crimes took place inside Stiles’ home.

OCSO has been using social media to help capture fugitives and it’s proven to be effective.

“We know that the way the world is going now that everyone is using their cell phones, going online to get information,” Meyers said. “We want to be right in the middle of that and be able to push that information out to the public so that we can receive information back from them and solve a case like this.”

Using the hash tags #OKCOSO and #OKFUGITIVE, authorities hope a single tweet will lead them to Stiles.

“That`s why we go to the public for something like this because we know that’s the best way we can get a response,” Meyers said. “Someone out there knows where this guy is. We’ve put out his picture, so someone has seen him. We`re just really pleading to the public to give us that information so we can get this guy off the streets.”

If you have seen Clayton Scott Stiles, you should immediately call The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Division at (405)-713-1968, or tweet #OKCOSO or #OKFUGITIVE.
