BAYTOWN, Texas – Police are investigating the murders of a mother and her 13-year-old daughter after their bodies were found inside their Texas home.
Barbara Deramus called police after she learned that her daughter didn’t show up for work on Tuesday.
When she went to her daughter’s home, she says she found the front door open and four unlit cigarettes on the porch.
Once officers arrived, they found the bodies of Cynthia Morris and 13-year-old Breanna Pavilicek, who had both been shot to death.
However, there was one family member who was missing from the home- Morris’ 16-year-old daughter Kirsten Fritch.
According to KPRC, investigators immediately set their sights on Fritch’s boyfriend, 22-year-old Jesse Dobbs, and named him a person of interest.
Deramus says that Kirsten and Dobbs began dating a few weeks ago but Morris didn’t necessarily approve of their relationship.
Police originally believed that the pair left the home together after the murders.
However, officers found Dobbs and his vehicle several hours later with no sign of Kirsten.
