WAYNE, N.J. - Police in New Jersey are warning hikers and mountain bikers about traps set along a popular hiking trail.

Wayne police told WPIX that someone has been placing traps along the more than 11 miles of trails in High Mountain Park Preserve.

So far, officials have found barbed wire and wooden planks with nails sticking out of the dirt beneath the surface of the trails.

"Pulling a metal wire with mountain bikers could almost be attempted murder," said Bob Simpson, a trail supervisor.

No arrests have been made in the case.
