BETHANY, Okla. - A business in Bethany is claiming an alleged vandal is on the move, after a mystery man damaged its property then took off with no explanation.

It was all caught on surveillance video and Bethany police are warning residents in the area to keep an eye out for suspicious activity.

Johnny Daniels said, "He just walked over here and started cutting."

Daniels said it was broad daylight when someone cut through this fence at Tulakes Aero, an aircraft maintenance and repair company in Bethany.

The motive is unknown and it is putting workers on edge.

Daniels said, "If they're that, whatever you call the word, brazen, maybe you've got to kind of fear them because if you get them cornered, are they going to try and run into you?"

The man in the video gets spooked when a car pulls into the lot behind him.

Police say you can see him move to the passenger side of the car before calmly walking around to the driver’s side and taking off.

He said, "I would say he was either looking to get into here and steal something, like a catalytic converter, steal wire, or he was trying to get into the business next door, it's a motor home and mini storage."

Since he didn't actually make it inside, Bethany police say he will only face charges of vandalism.

Daniels hopes another business isn't his next victim.

He said, "It's a different kind of world. There are just a lot of lazy people out there that it's easier for them to do something like this than it is for them to work a day or something."

To help prevent this type of vandalism from happening again, Bethany police say they are stepping up patrols in the area.
